Vice President of Student Activities

The Vice President of Student Activities shall be the official spokesperson for SAB. He/she shall preside at all Executive Board meetings.  In the absence of the Vice President of Student Activities, the Executive Officer shall preside. The VP will have general supervision over the activities and affairs of SAB and shall have the authority to appoint SAB committee applicants to committees with advice and consent of the applicable committee chair.  Other Executive positions will also be appointed. The VP will be required to hold office hours, with a minimum of twelve hours per week. He/she shall supervise the day-to-day activities and affairs of SAB and its standing committees and shall hold one meeting a month, excluding Winter Break, with both committee chair officers at the start of every semester, and one meeting a semester with individual executive board members. He/she will attend at least two general or executive board meetings of standing committees each semester. It is the mission of the Vice President of Student Activities to utilize his/her full resources as organizational president and executive officer of Student Senate to facilitate the success of the committees and officers of the SAB board.

Executive Officer

The Executive Officer shall coordinate committee chair leadership workshops, training sessions, conferences and retreats with the aid of the Vice President of Student Activities. The EO shall act as presiding officer of SAB in the absence of the Vice President of Student Activities. He/she shall assist the SAB Treasurer in preparing and presenting the proposed SAB budget to the Student Fees and Allocations Committee of the Student Senate. It is recommended that the Executive Officer attend at least one committee meeting of each of the standing committees per semester. He/she shall coordinate and oversee the placement of interns with SAB Executive Board members and SAB Officers. The EO shall be required to meet regularly with the Vice President of Student Activities and assist the Vice President of the Student Activities in the duties delegated to him/her.

Organizational Development Chair

The Organizational Development chair shall work to promote SAB throughout campus through innovative ways and by running the SAB text messaging system, the SAB punch card system and working closely with the Public Relations co-chairs, as well as the Secretary in order to better SAB.

Treasurer

Shall maintain records of all financial matters and report to SAB on the organization's financial status at least twice a semester or when requested to do so by the Vice President of Student Activities or chair of any of the standing committees. Treasurer will also inform all SAB Board members of the proper procedure for requisitioning funds. He/she will assist the Executive Officer in preparing and presenting the proposed SAB budget to the Student Fees and Allocations Committee of the Student Senate. The Treasurer shall perform all other duties as delegated by SAB or the Vice President of Student Activities and will maintain regular communication with the current Student Senate Treasurer.

Secretary

The Secretary shall take meeting minutes at every executive board meeting and E-mail out the minutes to the executive board. He/she will sort through the SAB e-mail account(s) in accordance with the Vice President of Student Activities and will work hand in hand with the Organization Development chair in order to better SAB. The Secretary will manage information of all SAB committee members and send weekly e-mails to SAB committee members and SAB list -serve recipients. The Secretary will also compile the yearly calendar and assist the Vice President of Student Activities in any other way deemed fit.

The bands committee will seek to program progressive and engaging live music entertainment events.   While every performance might not appeal to every student, the bands committee will seek a selection of artists that represent the diversity of backgrounds and musical interests present in the student body.
